Richmond, VA – Delegate Ben Cline (R-Rockbridge) announced today the introduction of HB 2265, legislation in the House of Delegates to institute "constitutional carry" in the Commonwealth of Virginia. The bill would remove the concealed carry permit requirement for any person who is otherwise eligible to carry a concealed handgun.
"The Constitution should be the only permit that law abiding citizens need in order to carry a firearm. Since arriving in the House of Delegates in 2002, I have been committed to protecting and upholding the Second Amendment as one of our most basic constitutional rights," said Cline. "I hope the bill I have introduced this year will further protect the Second Amendment rights of law abiding Virginians, and I look forward to its passage in the General Assembly."
