Rockbridge, VA – Delegate Ben Cline (R-24) announced today that he will receive an award from the American Conservative Union in recognition of his perfect score on their 2016 ratings of the members of the Virginia General Assembly.
Of the 100 members of the Virginia House of Delegates, Delegate Cline is one of two members to receive a perfect score of 100 percent for his voting record during this most recent legislative session.
“I am honored to receive this award from the American Conservative Union. As a member of the House of Delegates and the House chair of the Virginia Conservative Caucus, I have worked to strengthen our liberty and adhere to conservative principles, a cornerstone of the American Conservative Union’s mission,” said Cline.
The American Conservative Union is a conservative organization working to ensure liberty, personal responsibility, traditional values, and strong national defense. For six years, they have released a rating of all members of the Virginia House of Delegates on key votes related to conservative values.
Cline represents the 24th House District, including the Cities of Lexington and Buena Vista, Bath County, Rockbridge County, and parts of Amherst and Augusta Counties. He was elected in 2002, and re-elected to his eighth term in November 2015. Cline is a member of the House Commerce and Labor Committee, the Militia, Police, and Public Safety Committee, the Finance Committee, and the Courts of Justice Committee. He chairs the Subcommittee on Mental Health.
